Bhotekoshi Flood: 734 Bodies Recovered, 2,498 Still Missing

भोटेकोशी बाढी : ७३४ जनाको शव फेला, २ हजार ४९८ अझै बेपत्ता, रसुवाको भोटेकोशी नदीमा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीले बगाएका ७३४ जनाको शव फेला परेको छ। राष्ट्रिय विपद् जोखिम न्यूनीकरण तथा व्यवस्थापन प्राधिकरणले आइतबार बिहानसम्मको विवरण सार्वजनिक गर्दै बाढीबाट ७३४  जनाको मृत्यु र २ हजार ४९८ जना अझै सम्पर्कविहीन भएको जनाएको हो।

प्राधिकरणका अनुसार मृतकमध्ये रसुवामा १३, नुवाकोटमा ५२, धादिङमा ५०, गोरखामा ५८, नवलपरासी पूर्वमा १८४, नवलपरासी पश्चिममा ८२, तनहुँमा ३६ र चितवनमा २५९ जना छन्। कतिपयको आंशिक मानव अंग मात्र रहेको छ।

सम्पर्कविहीन हुनेमा जलविद्युत् आयोजनाबाट ९३३ जना, रसुवाबाट ५६२ जना, नुवाकोटबाट ११५ जना, मकवानपुरबाट ६५ जना, सम्पर्कविहीन विदेशी नागरिक ५८९ जना, प्रहरी २७ जना, सेना ४५ जना, सशस्त्र प्रहरी १३ जना, भन्सार कार्यालय १५ जना, अध्यागमन कार्यालय ४ जना, नेपाल घुम्न आएका विदेशमा बस्ने नेपाली नागरिक १२७ जना, लाङटाङ राष्ट्रिय निकुञ्जका ३ जना रहेको प्राधिकरणले जनाएको छ।खोज तथा उद्धारका लागि १९ हजार ८९५ सुरक्षाकर्मी परिचालन गरिएको छ। हालसम्म ८ हजार १८६ जनाको उद्धार गरिएको प्राधिकरणले जनाएको छ।  जलविद्युतको सुरुङबाट शुक्रबार १९१ र शनिबार ८८ जनाको उद्धार भएको बताइएको छ। हालसम्म २२७ जना विदेशी नागरिकको हेलिकोप्टरबाट उद्धार गरिएको छ।

  Bhotekoshi Flood: 734 Bodies Recovered, 2,498 Still Missing

The bodies of 734 people who were swept away by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa have been recovered. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), releasing details as of Sunday morning, said that 734 people have died in the disaster, while 2,498 others remain out of contact and are still missing.

According to the Authority, the death toll includes 13 people in Rasuwa, 52 in Nuwakot, 50 in Dhading, 58 in Gorkha, 184 in Nawalparasi East, 82 in Nawalparasi West, 36 in Tanahun, and 259 in Chitwan. In some cases, only partial human remains have been recovered.

Among those still missing are 933 people from hydropower projects, 562 from Rasuwa, 115 from Nuwakot, 65 from Makwanpur, 589 foreign nationals, 27 police personnel, 45 Nepal Army personnel, 13 Armed Police Force personnel, 15 people from customs offices, four from immigration offices, 127 Nepali nationals living abroad who were visiting Nepal, and three people from Langtang National Park.

A total of 19,895 security personnel have been deployed for search and rescue operations. So far, 8,186 people have been rescued, according to the Authority.

It was reported that 191 people were rescued from hydropower tunnels on Friday and another 88 on Saturday. So far, 227 foreign nationals have also been rescued by helicopter.
